The rules are simple. Look through the player catalogue and pick a team. You need to select a squad of 14 players, and you've got 1.5 million pounds to play with.
You'll also need to pick a home ground. This is an important consideration: do you pick a hard pitch to help the batsmen, and load up your top order, or go for a green-top to go with your arsenal of seamers? The choice is yours. It might be worth picking a good captain, and good fielders can't do any harm either.
The only other thing you need to know is that players with short careers won't be able to play every game. Somehow people like Courtney Walsh need to be rewarded for his long career, so it might be that an injury system is introduced. For now I'll say that in the 18 game season, anyone who played under 18 games will be limited to the number of games they played in real life... I hope that makes sense. So HF Boyle of Australia, who played in 12 tests, will be eligible for 12 games in TTCricket. I'll see how that goes :)
Once you've picked your team and home ground, email it to us and you'll be put in a league as soon as we've got the numbers. If the players you've picked have already been taken we'll let you know - you'll get to choose again, and will receive some extra money to pick with as compensation. Same goes for your home pitch.
Each league contains 10 teams. You'll play each team home and away, and at the end of the season the top 2 teams will meet in a five match series to determine the champion.
The season lasts for 18 weeks, there'll be one game a week. Furthermore, every month you'll receive extra money, which we'll call gate receipts. At the end of rounds 4, 8, 12 and 16 you'll receive 100,000 pounds, which can be used to strengthen your squad. This can be done at any time, simply let us know who you want to add and who you're going to release to make room. When you release a player you're awarded half his value in cash, so in week 4 you can cash in your 200,000 batsman who's yet to score a run for 100,000, and use the gate money to replace him with a 200,000 player. Easy. Do all this by sending an email, which should include your team name and league.
